IMPROVE YOUR LISTENING SKILLS
To practise your listening skills further. There have been sites listed on the right-hand side bar of the blog all year long, but anyway, these are some of the most popular sites among students:
- Saberingles Listening comprehension exercises in American English in three levels (your level is probably "Medium").
- Esl-lab Choose your level (medium), click on a story and answer multiple choice comprehension questions. To finish the exercise, you can listen and read the script at the same time
- Elllo Most activities include images, an interactive quiz, transcript of the audio and downloadable MP3. Just browse and look for something your level.
- Podcastsinenglish listenings for Intermediate level to listen to online or to download. Disadvantage: if you want to have access to the transcripts and the exercises you have to register.
IMPROVE YOUR PRONUNCIATION
If you want to brush up on your pronunciation before the exam, this is the pronunciation channel of Vaughan System, where you´re going to find lots of videos about the pronunciation of chunks which can be tricky for Spanish students (it´s a..., shouldn´t have..., etc). Highly advisable.
This is the blog of an American teacher who´s been teaching in Spain for many years, so he knows well the mistakes that native Spanish speakers make when pronouncing English. Here you can find some of his most popular posts (with audio). They´re written in Spanish and he´s got a sense of humour:
